Shrine of Cayden Cailean

Posted on June 17, 2011January 20, 2024 by Brianna

The Shrine of Cayden Cailean is located on Temple Street in the High Quarter of Cillamar. The shrine is one of the most popular in the area, possibly due to the pub that surrounds the holy tankard at the center of the building. While there is no formal worship service, the offer of buying a round in Cayden's name is commonly heard in the evenings.

n

There are a few clerics who honor Cayden and tend the bar. The head cleric is Corgash Darkeyes, a former adventurer who is tasking a break from traveling about Morrain. He is a tall, thin fellow with reddish hair. He wears an eye patch but has never told the story of how he lost his eye. He always seems relaxed and even the occasional bar fight doesn't cause him to get angry. The only time has been seen to become angry was when a nobleman was beating a slave in the street.  Corgash grabbed the whip from the noble and stopped the beating, he then proceeded to buy the slave and free him. The nobleman  suffered many misfortunes after this and it was rumored that Corgash had prayed for Cayden to strike the noble down for imprisoning and beating on another person.

n

The shrine is simple with only a Placard of Wisdom on one wall that says “Do good, enjoy life, have a drink now and then, stand up for what you believe in.” The only other activity that Corgash and the other clerics help out with is when the Sisters of Sarenrae go to help the orphans of Cillamar.  They always have gold to contribute and enjoy making the children laugh when they visit.
