Our group found themselves in a room that led to a platform overlooking a cavern. In the cavern was a lake with a small island in the center. The lake was filled by a waterfall on the opposite side of the cave. In the center of the island was a black crystal that glowed with an eery light. The party could see shapes moving around on the island. They could also see a group of children that were tied up and located close to the crystal. The group was able to sneak back into the room without being noticed by the group on the island.
After a close examination of the room, they found a rope leading down to the lake. This rope was next to a hidden set of controls that open up a ramp in the room. The ramp sloped towards the cave. After some investigation by Sheliak it was found that the ramp led to a large net that could be lowered or raised from the lake. The group was able to get into the net and lower themselves to the lake floor.
While on the way down, the group was noticed and just before reaching the bottom they were hit by a pile of stones falling from a magical hole directly above them. After taking some damage they found that they could walk to the island. After getting to the island the Storm Peace Keepers began to battle the small humanoids on the island. These humanoids looked like warped version of some small race such as gnomes or halflings Javelins were thrown at the group while they made thier way forward. In the back, by the crystal, a female was gesturing and casting spells on the group. Cendrine held her ground, with Sheliak and Danicia providing support. Darsus stayed back in order to call upon his God for aid and provide healing.
The spellcaster was finally forced to come closer to the group and was able to knock Danicia unconscious. However, Cendrine and Sheliak made sure she did no more harm and Darsus brought Danicia back from the brink of death. They quickly finished off the rest of the small humanoids and freed the children.
However, the death of the spellcaster, an Oracle for the crystal, brought about the caverns doom. A loud roar from the waterfall could be heard as tons of water rushed to fill the cavern. The platform and ropes had fallen with the earthquake from the Oracles death and it seemed that there was no escape from the cavern other than swimming. However, the cavern was filled with very large mushrooms, larger than a human, that were floating in the water. The Storm Peace Keepers quickly gathered the children and climbed into mushrooms.
The water continued rising in the cavern, heading towards the opening above the cave. While the waters swirled the Storm Peace Keepers was able to keep their balance and keep everyone in the mushrooms. They could see that they were rising up to the opening with the giant door. As the waters reached the giant door the stress became too much and the doors were burst open. The water then flowed into the tunnel behind the door, carrying the Storm Peace Keepers and the children on a wild ride. As the group floated from the flooded cavern they could still see a violet glow, pulsing in the water from where the crystal had been located.
After some time in the dark, riding through rapids and striving to keep balance the mushrooms were pulled into a side river and gradually floated towards an opening with light coming from it. The Storm Peace Keepers found themselves in a small room with a marble floor and a door open to the outside. One of the children said they were at Folly’s tomb which was about 2 miles from Cillamar. While drying the children off and trying to warm up they heard a shout from outside. One of the children ran outside and greeted guards from Cillamar.
The guards had been patrolling the area due to the recent troubles and one young man was very happy to find his young daughter alive. The guards offered to take the children back to Cillamar if the Storm Peace Keepers wanted to try their luck with Folly’s tomb. It was a known set of puzzles left by a rich Cillamar resident some 200 years before. Supposedly his treasure had been left for those smart enough to overcome the challenges within the tomb.
The group sent the children back to Cillamar and stayed the night. They went through the tomb the next day and after solving some really annoying puzzles they found the treasure in the final room. While trying to figure out what to do, an image of a gnome appeared, tapping it’s foot and said “Would you hurry up, we’ve already delayed the next group an hour more than we expected, we need to get things reset.” The image disappeared and a door appeared in the wall to a tunnel. The Storm Peace Keepers went through the tunnel and found themselves about a half mile from the gates of Cillamar. They headed into the city for some well deserved rest and to go on a buying spree.
