Brianna is known for hanging around the Slumbering Drake but few know that she is also friends with Sophia Ismae, a member of the Ismae house of CIllamar. Brianna and Sophia met at one of the noble parties a few years ago. Sophia was entranced by Brianna's playing and found an excuse to talk to her after Brianna's performance. Brianna offered to teach Sophia how to play the lute and the Count agreed to the lessons as part of a noble ladies training.

During these lessons Brianna and Sophia connected and developed a deep friendship. Sophia had few people she could trust due to the politics of the city and Brianna provided a refreshing honesty and insight for Sophia during her teen years. As the friendship developed Sophia started to get secret training in the magic and performance skills of bards. Sophia longed to use these abilities but because she was the heir for her house her responsibility for her duties was continually repeated to her.

About two years ago Sophia overheard a conversation of her father talking with some stranger that visited. The conversation made her uneasy and she confided in Brianna that she had thought she had heard her father plotting to overthrow the Patriarch of Cillamar and replace it with only the Lord's Council to rule. Brianna told Sophia she knew there was a plot but did not know who else might be involved. After some extensive use of Sophia's diplomacy, she convinced Brianna to include her in finding out information and vowed to find proof of her father's innocence or guilt in the matter.

Brianna is still friends with Sophia, although she keeps their meetings to a minimium after the the incident at the keep. She knows Sophia is restless and she is also restless, ready to move on to something else. No definite proof has been found of a plot and with the increase in guards around Cillamar things seem to be quieting down and becoming dull. She finds herself ready to go out and see what trouble she might find out in the bigger world.
