Sophia is a member of one of the oldest noble houses of Cillamar. Her father, Count Ismae, has set an example for the other houses, although he has been withdrawn and secretive ever since Sophia disappeared several months ago. His daughter is his only living child and the heir to his holdings and his seat on the Lord’s Council of Cillamar. Sophia’s mother died when she was a young child and the Count has kept her protected, perhaps over protected, as she grew up. While many noble ladies attempted to court the Count, none could replace his beloved wife, Atsuii Kaijitsu. As Sophia grew older she chafed under her father’s tight reign and started slipping out and wandering the Warrens of Cillamar. Her escapades were the gossip of the nobles of Cillamar and she continues to cause talk when she walks about the city.
The Storm Peace Keepers became acquainted with Sophia when the count hired them to guard her after she was rescued. While guarding her at the Harvest Ball, the Storm Peace Keepers found out her secrets. She had been studying as a bard with Brianna and investigating rumors of an underground resistance to the Patriarch’s of Cillamar’s rule. Brianna had heard that one or more of the noble families was involved with the plot so Sophia was trying to gather information at noble gatherings and the taverns of the Warrens. The Storm Peace Keepers agreed to keep her secrets and Sophia acted on her best behavior while guarded by them. This gave her additional help and support as she gathered information about the nobles, including her own father.
Sophia has continued to study with Brianna secretly and also spent some time studying adventuring tactics with the group The Strangers. However, after a battle at the keep outside of town, where she assisted The Strangers during an attack, her father has forbidden her to go back. Although he has no other living heirs he has threatened to disinherit Sophia if she persists in befriending ‘low life’ adventurers. However, the Storm Peace Keepers have continued to strike the right tone and they continue to guard Sophia in public while secretly talking with her about possible plot in town.
Sophia’s mother was Tian, a far off land that is reached by traveling over the Crown of the World in the far north. Sophia is part Tian, with long, dark hair, and hazel eyes that showed the influence of her Tian blood. While she knows her duty is to be the heir for her father, she feels stifled in her role as noble of Cillamar. Her recent adventures have sparked her interest in adventuring and if the right incentive came up, she would leave her inheritance for what she sees as a simpler, easier life.
