This grim establishment was run by Mortimer Umberwood, a tall pallid human with a strange, signature gait. Seven or so carpenters work for Mortimer Underwood. Mortimer kept his prices low by hiring the weakest and most desperate of Cillamar’s refugees. These are damned souls, perennially suffering from manticores’ cough or some other such disease. The adventuring group, The Strangers, discovered that the shop was a front for a group of slavers that were operating out of Castle Whiterock. The Strangers captured Umberwood and turned him over to the Lantern Watch for questioning. Unfortunately, Umberwood, also known as Ankiel, was discovered dead in his cell in the Gaol before he could be questioned about the slavers and their operations. Lady Woden and her assistant questioned The Strangers about the death which occurred inside the Gaol. The building is now empty and boarded up. The poor souls found there working for Umberwood are being helped by the Temple of Sarenrae to regain their health or ease their passage to the next world.
