Theraga Gellantra, warrior/ranger

Posted on March 21, 2011January 20, 2024 by Brianna

Theraga was born and raised in the small village of Terro’s Rest, in southern Morraine. During her childhood, things were peaceful but as she grew into a woman there was unrest in the area. During a raid on her village one night she was taken captive and made a slave. For several years she was kept as a slave at the raiders camp, during the day doing cooking, hauling things and other chores and during the night being passed from bandit to bandit. She built up a great hatred for slavers and a desire to escape and learn how to defend herself. During a trip from the camp with other slaves and two raider, something inside of Theraga snapped, through a lucky move she was able to kill both of the raiders with a dagger she grabbed from one them while he was beating her. She and two other slaves escaped and made their way north.  The other two slaves were recent captures and were guards from a caravan.
Theraga traveled with them and convinced them to teach her how to fight so she could defend herself.  The other two, after being much impressed by Theraga and how she was able to fight with no training, helped Theraga become part of the caravan guild. She has continued practicing her fighting and has gone on several caravan trips as a guard. While she is very fierce in fighting, she holds back nothing when fighting against slavers. When she heard that the group “The Strangers” had killed slavers at the old castle and they were looking for guards she went to the caravan hall to volunteer to work for the group. She is interested in improving her fighting skills in order to find and track down slavers. Due to her interests, she is using the money she earns from the group to take training in Cillamar on the ranger class. Because of her experience as a slave she is cool towards men, although her experience as a caravan guard, with people like Hugin, have softened her attitude some. She likes Hugin but prefers to use her sword and fighting to impress rather any supposed feminine charms she might have.
