The group went down the hallway and saw four trolls in another chamber of the cave. This chamber was neater and one of the trolls was barking orders at the other three from the back of the room. The three trolls moved forward to form a wall while the Strangers moved forward into position. Kaylord and Coravel moved in to stand between Aramil and Quis'Ari and started attacking the trolls. Aramil softened them up with fire while Quis'Ari helped the group to fight better. The troll in the back continued to bark out orders but the other trolls did not appear to pay much attention and simply attacked the group.

At one point Aramil wandered within reach and took a great deal of damage while Kaylord and Coravel prevent them from getting closer. When one troll went down the troll in the back moved up and showed better fighting skill. However, the improved skill was not enough and all of the trolls were taken down and burned with fire to prevent them from rising up again.

A search of the room turned up some valuables and part of a diary for a wizard. The diary described adventures of Pelltar and ended with a description of how he brought the pyramid into the large cavern for his final resting place. The entries ended with Pelltar becoming weaker in spite of cure potions after a battle with a guardian in the tomb. After reading the diary the group decided to wait to tackle the pyramid until they had checked out the rest of the cavern in the hopes of finding more information about the pyramid.

They re-entered the cavern and started moving forward by one wall. As they moved forward they detected movement a few hundred feet away. Kaylord could just make out several figures who appeared to be on a bridge attacking a small creature. After surveying the situation, the group split into two parts and moved forward in order to trap the battle participants between them. They were able to sneak up and perform a sneak attack on the group. As they got closer, they could see several undead attacking a kobold on the bridge. One of the figures, wearing armor and carrying a flail, shot a green ray at Aramil but he was able to avoid the attack. This figure tried several other magical attacks, while the other undead ineffectually tried to attack the group. Once the group was in position, they took down the less powerful undead but the armored figure created an earthquake that almost took Kaylord and Coravel into the earth. They saved themselves and the armored figure was dispatched after this last attack.

The kobold stayed on the bridge once the undead were destroyed so the group looked over the bodies of the undead for treasure. They found magical armor and a magical weapon along with an unholy symbol of a minor deity, Mulgrem. The group then approached the kobold who stood guarding the bridge. The session ended here.
