09. I think we might have a gi-ant problem…

Posted on December 1, 2013January 11, 2025 by Brianna

After resting and assessing the situation the group decided to go back up a level and explore those passages before winding around in a lower level. The group climbed back up the rope and then headed up the passage to the left of the room they first entered. The cautiously moved ahead and their wariness was rewarded when they spied a group of trogs down another passage. The trogs were busy fighting an ooze that had already slain several of the trog companions. The group stayed at a distance from the trogs and with most attacking the ooze and Cendrine attacking the trogs. The trogs were kept back by the ooze but did throw javelins in an attempt to take down the group. After several volleys, the trogs and the ooze went down and not in a good way. The group decided to keep moving and found themselves looking down an opening into a large chamber.

In the chamber were large ants that would not be welcome at any picnic the Storm Peace Keepers might hold in the future. And even larger ant stoodon the floor and started chittering. Within a few seconds another large ant entered the chamber and starting moving towards the group. The group worked their magic to fly above the fray and pick off the large ants and their queen. They were well rewarded by finding treasure among the eggs left by the queen. They found more passages from the chambe but continued with their plan of exploring the upper passages before moving lower.

Continuing down the passage across from the hole they entered they found a cavern with water running in it. Within the cavern they found bat swarms that surrounded the group. After several problems in hitting the tiny creatures the group was finally able to overcome the swarms and break them apart. After a difficult battle the group decided to rest and meditate in preparation for additional challenges. They set a watch and stopped in the cavern. The session ended here.
