A sturdy ironbound portal, reinforced by portcullis and flanked by high towers, the Lord’s Gate is the first line of defense in case of an attack from the south and east. The towers are outfitted with cauldrons for boiling oil, and rocks to be hurled down on attackers, and a small garrison of watchful Magn’gard warriors stands watch atop each tower. The Lord’s Gate is open most hours of the day and night, but those passing the gates must identify themselves and explain their reasons for the visit.

After dark, braziers are lit before the gate and atop the towers are lit, providing warmth to the guards and deterring rogues who would attempt to slip over the defenses.
