The session started with the group finishing off the spell caster of the group that had attacked them. Kaylord remembered his magic ring and decided to try the spell quench and see what it would do. As he invoked the spell, a flood of water poured down on the spell caster and the houses, crushing him to the ground. There was also some damage to the building in the narrow space, demonstrating the power of water.
n
In the meantime, the crowd continued to move towards the Rogue's guild building while Hugin and the other guards protected the door. Lady Woden and a patrol of the Lantern Watch were in the square moving towards the crows. As The Strangers watched, the Lady commanded the Lantern Watch to help destroy the Rogue's Guild.
n
The group moved into position, in between the Lady and the building. The Lantern Watch moved through the crowd and some had torches to try and fire the building. Kaylord jumped on one of the shacks in the square and attempted to turn Lady Woden away from her course of action. She would not be deterred and kept repeating that the building needed to be destroyed.
n
As flames started to catch on the dry boards, Kaylord used his ring again to quench the fires and also knock out parts of the mob. After another deluge poured over the mob, many were lying on the ground and the flames were out. After this action, the rest of the mob ran out of the square, leaving it to The Strangers, Lady Woden and the Lantern Watch.
n
Groups of the Magn'gard entered the squared and engaged with the Lantern Watch to keep them out of the battle. Kaylord asked the Lady to step back again, but she refused. Coravel and Quis'Ari had moved into position and were ready to support the battle when the Lady attacked.
n
Kaylord and Coravel engaged the Lady while the Magn'gard kept the Lantern Watch from interfering. After several attacks and hits, the group was successful in stopping Lady Woden as she fell unconscious to the ground. Quis'Ari stabilized her so that the Magn'gard could carry her off to a secure location. The group consulted with the Magn'gard, who were spread out through the city to keep the peace. There were mobs starting up and being pushed back. However, the greatest worry was an attack on the citadel and on Lady Lewis in an attempt to take over control of Cillamar. The captain of the Magn'gard had also heard rumors spread that the Lady Lewis was ill and that Count Ismae should take over.
n
The group was assured that the Magn'gard could keep the peace but felt The Strangers would act as a stronger guard at the citadel in case the True Men and mercenaries decided to attack. The Strangers made their way to the citadel, hearing sounds of mobs and battle in other parts of the city. At the citadel, they were provided quarters in the guard house of the courtyard. Several Magn'gard stood watch for the night while The Strangers contemplated the experience they had gained over the last month. Their practice was paying off and they felt that after a night's rest they could make good use of their new knowledge.
n
The night passed and just before dawn the group was awakened by one of the Magn'gard. Two riderless horses were trotting into the courtyard and they felt that the Strangers should check them out. Kaylord, Coravel and Quis'Ari were already awake and preparing for the day so they quickly made their way into the courtyard. Two horses were now walking into the yard as Magn'gard moved up to them to catch them. As Kaylord and Coravel approached, one of the horses turned and rode a charge towards a group of the guards. As the horse approached, a rider suddenly appeared, holding a lance and attacking. The other horse quickly followed.
n
Kaylord and Coravel joined the battle as the horsemen charged them. The Magn'gard gathered at the door of the citadel to hold it while the guards in the towers lowered the gate to keep others from coming in. However, Count Ismae was also there, as they found out when he appeared as he attacked the group. The Count and the horsemen seemed to move faster than normal but the group was well prepared and Coravel cast haste on his group.
n
The horsemen continued charging, but Kaylord and Coravel caused them problems when they attacked the horses. Kaylord ran after one horse while Coravel and Quis'Ari attacked the other horsemen and Count Ismae. The battle seemed to be turning their way when Coravel felt a spell and a sense of confusion came over him. He was able to attack a round, then his mind wandered.
n
Count Ismae moved in and started attacking Coravel and Quis'Ari. As they moved in, another spell was cast to try and hold them. Quis'Ari shook the spell off, but due to Coravel's confused condition, he was left paralyzed. Kaylord was approaching and he now felt himself confused as well. The two lords were on the unhorsed and drinking potions to heal. The Count was moving in to attack. The session ended here.
